The year is almost over and the most accurate statement I can make is that it’s been a wild ride!
We saw the year start with a familiar feel. A little lethargy was common after the Christmas break and many were planning warm-weather vacations. February brought hope of an early spring and there was some early talk of a virus in China, and then BAM!
Personally, an early March vacation to Palm Springs ended in mandatory self-isolation. At the same time, a team member’s daughter was playing hockey with The University Pandas for the national title in PEI. The games were ultimately called off and the girls and parents were sent home empty-handed. This was the start of the Covid restrictions for us. So many things cancelled. So many trips, weddings, birthdays, retirements, and sadly, funerals. It’s been a rollercoaster ride. Our emotional health and physical health have been tested.
We reopened in May and hygiene joined us with full services in June. It was the same, but different. We were shell-shocked when we were mandated to close and guarded on reopening. Hopeful that life would return to normal. Now, a full nine months later, it’s getting a little hard to remember what that normal was. Our new normal is getting comfortable. That gives me relief and makes me sad too.
Through it all, our team at Mak Dental has been amazing. We’ve had a few changes, we’ve lost some friends who decided it was a good time to leave our practice or change careers, and we wish them well and we’ve been introduced to some new team members who are fitting in beautifully. Our team has been resilient and has been so committed to Mak Dental, but more importantly, to our patients, the people we serve.
We’ve received so much positivity from our patients, who are the lifeblood of our practice. We’ve heard that you are grateful we are open, and that’s music to our ears. We appreciate that you’ve noticed our dedication to you!
So, as this year winds down, we wish our Mak Dental family, staff, patients, vendors, labs, salespeople and suppliers, our landlord, our mail person and delivery people, our janitorial team, and our neighbours a wonderful holiday season. A merry Christmas and happy holidays to all.
We stay committed to our vision of providing you exceptional dental care in a respectful, caring environment. We look forward to 2021 with hope and gratitude.
Peace and love be with you,
From Dr. Kuharchuk on behalf of Dr. Nijjer and our team.
